Technical skills
Web developers bring technical skills. They can create documents that web browsers can display (with HTML and CSS languages), and create scripts which make the site react to user actions (thanks to JavaScript). They also can optimize how the server render pages (thanks to a server side language).
Application created during my bachelor's work placement in a company named COGIFOR. This is a booking management application calledCOGI-SERVICES.
The app has 4 main features:
Booking management, either in a graphical mode (a calendar) or a classical mode (a table).
Customer management.
Generation of statistics about bookings.
Application setup.
It was created using PHP framework Symfony2 and Jquery for the JavaScript. Unfortunately, it is not testable online.
ONZEROCKS.NET
Website of a radio show, broadcast on a local radio in the city of Orléans in France. The site allows people to listen both the live show when the time comes, and recorded shows that were archived.
This website was handmade, without any PHP framework. Client side, I used Jquery and Jquery UI. I'm planning a new version, with Symfony 2 and new graphics. This new version will use Bootstrap, for responsive design.
Fictionnal project achieved during my bachelor. It's a website for a private music teacher. The project was fictionnal, but I needed a concrete case to work on, so I invented a false music teacher called Diego Da Capo. Although, the website I made could easily be adapted to any real teacher who would ask me. The site has 3 main aims :
Informing visitors (potential customers) about the teacher, the lessons, the timetable, the kind of song taught, etc. It is the vitrine part of the site.
Allowing the teacher to put pedagogic material online, such as videos, audio records, and tabs. Teacher's students may then log in the site to consult the resources.
Provide an online calendar with the lessons' dates
This website was the main school project of my bachelor (excepted what I did during my placement). I got a 16 / 20 mark for this work.
It was achieved with XHTML 1.0, CSS 3 for design, PHP for server language (without framework). Client side, I used the Full Calendar plugin in Jquery, and Mootools for all the rest (datepicker, animations, etc).
Player achieved during my bachelor. It doesn't use the audio tag. Although, the whole interface is crafted with HTML and CSS. JavaScript takes care of events (buttons click). A small Flash program handles playing-related functionnalities (like playing, pausing, stopping, going to next and previous...), and communicates with JavaScript.
This player was made with Mootools, especially thanks to its Swiff object, that allows communication between Flash and JavaScript. The player has classical playing functionnalities. There's also additionnal features like playlist management, album covers display, and quick access to a particular moment of the song by drag and drop of the cursor.
